Talking about youth, I believe everyone on Earth would experience their childhood, enjoying the funs and happiness with their friends, envying of singers etc. Similarly, I also behave like them, because I’m that everyone. Every youth behave like that, it’s a form of natural personal. But frequently there is always somebody to stop our way, that somebody is our parents. They will always badger at their children, not to waste their time on mixing with friends, instead paid more concentration on studies. In my own opinion, our parents will not be able to understand our new civilization. Our age gap between parent and child is far too wide, though it is just pass down from the next generation, not next two generation. Presently, we are living on the 21st century and it is so called “Digital World”. There were millions of radioactive waves transferring longitudinal and latitudinal, all around the universe. But the problem is that our parents are living at the 20th century whereby few technology and invention, their minds were operating very slowly; they could not catch up with the new technology etc. Conversely, the youths are able to invent new products and functioning technology efficiently. Our parents just do not understand us.
Being a youth of Singapore is not as easy as you think, it is so challenging and stressful because there would be tones of homework left behind for us to do. Every Singaporean youth have to undergo a minimum ten years of education, as this policy has been made as compulsory. Miraculously, I was able to endure eight years of trapping in school. At present, I’m halfway there, at the ninth year. It will be no kidding joke for my tenth year because I’m taking my national examination. This exam will determine my destiny and career; hence I have to bulk up. Furthermore, to become a outstanding Singapore youth, one must be vigilant, productive, influencing and confident etc. in my opinion, I can assure that none of the youths are able to meet the high expectations. So I will like to emphasize that being a Singapore youth is very difficult.
However, everything has its disadvantages and advantages; being a youth of Singapore has its benefits too. We are lucky to be able to live under such beautify and clean environment. Youths of Singapore are able to take pleasure in having air-conditioned environment and digital country. It has been so convenience after the invention of internet serving; I just have to simply press the key words on my keyboard, a whole chunk of links appeared in my sight; and a simply click on my mouse pad can bring me to a new website filled with knowledgeable information.
Initially, people always commented that Singapore is a very competitive society and great potential of becoming a first world country. As you can see, Singapore has become a first world country. The achievement was able to be made is due to ‘force’, with the ‘force’; people use to push themselves further. Thus the government has high expectations on their Singaporean youths. The stress is input; I will set my aims and determine to accomplish the tasks. Consequencely, Singapore youths are able to push themselves over their own limit, creating another future for Singapore.
In conclusion, being a youth.SG, we will meet ups and downs; face a lot of challenges and stress, we are to cherish our time as a youth. Every second is precious to us. In years to come, we will become an adult and cannot be a youth anymore. It’s irreversible but if there is a will, there is always is way to solve the problem. For those adults who wished to be a youth, he or she can have a heart of youth. Simple! Lastly, if the youth united together, new history will blossom. In my opinion, I will like to encourage the youths to spend their time wisely and meaningfully by doing more community service works; help the needy. Made every second an unforgettable memories, etched them in your minds. Be happy always, a contented mind is a perpetual feast…
